Joshua Francis CPI

Leaning into over a decade of experience in virtually all aspects of residential construction as a full-time job, Josh brings an extensive knowledge of building practices common to New England homes.

From the heat and humidity of Nashville, Tennessee to the long snowy winters of coastal Maine, dealing with the challenges of historic and unique homes throughout the northeast, Josh has the experience and know-how to read a house like a piece of music, taking it FROM THE TOP!!!

“I thoroughly enjoy inspecting buildings and helping people. Over the last 25 years I’ve been fortunate to work within and experience many unique building styles and methods, especially buildings 100+ years old. I also enjoy taking the time to educate and communicate with people about their ‘home.’ The house is a roof over your head, but to you, it’s so much more… It’s your HOME. I want you to feel good when you hear the rain falling, the wind blowing, and the heat starts going, so you can sleep better at night. Knowing that you did everything you could to keep your home happy and healthy.”

“I fully appreciate the value of assessing the holistic health of a building and the complexities that arise from outdated building practices and systems, harmful or degraded materials, and the necessary maintenance that every building requires. Your home will likely be your greatest financial investment. Learning how to maintain and keep a healthy home will be the greatest return on that investment.”

As an active InterNACHI member, Josh strives to continue enriching his knowledge of inspections and building practices , and views every inspection as an opportunity to learn and pass that knowledge on to his clients.

Josh resides in Brattleboro, VT. He has a degree in Music Performance from the University of Southern Maine with a concentration in Jazz Studies. Always a student and teacher, he continues his music pursuits on the drum set, and keeps a small studio where he teaches privately and records regularly. He’s always been a builder and a tinkerer, never afraid to take something apart. Josh continues building and maintaining homes (mainly his own 1870 house!!) and enjoys helping friends and neighbors independently from inspection services. Josh does not offer building services to anyone who has had an inspection for at least one year, per InterNACHI’s code of ethics.
